SPIRITUAL healing was on hand in High Wycombe today, as church members tried to ease the town’s aches and pains through the power of prayer.

Wycombe Churches set up a banner and chairs along White Hart Street and invited people to sit and be prayed for amid the occasional downpour of rain.

The group welcomed sufferers of back pain, arthritis, depression, allergies, and any other physical or mental ailments.

Reverend Chris Bull, of Christ Church, in Chapel Road, Flackwell Heath, said: “It’s going really well. We have been asking people if they would like to be prayed for and all sorts of people have been coming along.”

Members of Wycombe Churches recently attended a ‘Healing on the Streets’ conference at the Flackwell Heath church, which gave advice on how to pray for people to ease their suffering.

Wendy Bull was also helping with the churches’ initiative. She said: “We have been learning how to pray for people in this way – of course we knew how to pray before, but not doing it like this, out on the streets.”

She added members of all faiths had come to sit down and be prayed for, and that several people had reported feeling improvements to their ailments afterwards.
