FAITHLESS frontman Maxi Jazz will be bringing a bit of dance flavour to the White Horse.
Mr Jazz will be DJing on Saturday, November 29 for a gig that promises to be a rare and intriguing chance to see the formidable dance guru in action.
He is most noted for work with dance pioneers Faithless, producing some massive albums and songs that grabbed the dance scene by the scruff of the neck in the 90s.
Before joining Faithless, Maxi was already involved in the music scene and in the early 90s formed The Soul Food Cafe. Maxi then took the band all over Europe warming up the stage for the likes of Jamiroquai & Mother Earth in Amsterdam, Soul II Soul in Barcelona and Galliano in Switzerland.
In 1995 the band got together with Revco Records and they recorded a number of tracks.
His lyrics spring from Maxi’s deep faith in Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism that inspired much of his writing.
Around the mid-90s Maxi became part of a group that would change the way we saw dance music for ever – Faithless.
The band released classic dance albums Reverence, Sunday 8pm and Outrospective that have shaped the sound of the genre.
Both Maxi and Sister Bliss are the main public focus for the band but Dido’s brother Rollo is the driving force behind much of the writing, preferring to stay in the shadows.
Maxi’s lyrics and singing have become an unmistakable trademark for the Faithless sound and he is now bringing his talents to the decks.
And you can catch him in High Wycombe when he DJs at the White Horse.
