AMERSHAM band The Original Sinners are finalists in competition to play at Hyde Park alongside The Killers and Bruce Springsteen.
The band who formed in 1987 and disbanded in 1994 originally practised at the house of the Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson's wife.
At the height in their career the band released a self-funded album which Kerrang gave four stars and said: “Remember there was a time when Iron Maiden or Thunder weren't famous either”
After 15 years apart the band, made up of Alan on bass, Dan and Simon on guitar, Dave on drums and Pete on vocal, reformed.
The competition 'One Last Dream' is run by Absolute Radio and is aimed at old groups to relive their dreams.
Pete said: “We sent some of our tracks into Absolute Radio as part of the competition and forgot all about it.
“It's all really happened in the last two weeks. We could be playing next to Bruce Springsteen in a number of weeks.”
Since becoming finalists in the competition their tracks have been played on Absolute Radio every day.
The band are off to boot camp next week where they will have to an perform acoustic set live on air. Listeners of the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show will then have the chance to vote for their favourite band.
If the band win they will win day in Abbey Road Studios and to play at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park
