Murder probe man beaten and stabbed

A MURDER investigation has been launched into the death of a 20-year-old man attacked by up to four others in High Wycombe.

Police say the man was assaulted inside Buckinghamshire House, White Hart Street at 11pm last night.

They said it appeared he was both beaten and stabbed in the attack.

He was attended to by police officers and paramedics and taken to Wycombe Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Det Chief Insp Pete Vigurs, leading the investigation, said: “We believe this was a deliberate attack and a murder investigation has been launched.

“Buckinghamshire House has been cordoned off and police continue with their inquiries in the area.

“We are still in the very early stages of the investigation and are attempting to establish the circumstances around the young man’s death.

“I appeal to anyone who was in the area yesterday evening and saw anyone acting suspiciously near Buckinghamshire House between 11pm and 11.30pm, possibly riding on bicycles, to contact police immediately.

“If you have any information, however insignificant you think it might be, please get in touch.”

Police added they believed Buckingham House was being used as an illegal squat, but the man who died is not thought to have been residing there.

Call High Wycombe CID on 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two men aged 18 and 21 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
