Fowl play as Peacock moves in

A PETROLHEAD female Peacock has taken up resident in a Chesham Bois street with a penchant for sitting on homeowners’ cars.

The Peahen, males are Peacocks, enjoy sitting on car roofs and bonnets, said Deep Acres Emma Rynn said.

She said: “Everyone seems quite relaxed about her. I see people putting out water for her and throwing bread.”

Yet she said she is baffled over where the Peacock came from.

Good grief Oliver Evans. Please think about what you write and check it before publishing.

Three times you call it a peaCOCK, even though you explain that a female, as this is, is actually a peaHEN.

And what about this awful sentence:
"The Peahen, males are Peacocks, enjoy sitting on car roofs and bonnets, said Deep Acres Emma Rynn said."

It should be "enjoyS" and you only need one "said" at the end, plus an apostrophe after "Deep Acres".

Dreadful. E-

Go back to school and learn how to write.

I was going to say that looks like a peahen, not a peacock!

I bet Emma's surname is ANOTHER typo as well.

My children could have written this better when they were still at primary school - though whether it's interesting enough for them to both is another question.

Obviously a slow new day, but that means there's less excuse for such sloppiness.

Ha ha. Typos are catching - the problem is we can't edit our comments, whereas the journos can and should.

I meant "slow newS day"!

Apparently Oliver Evans is the chief reporter at the Bucks Free Press. How the hell did he rise that far with such sloppy journalism?

I mean, I don't get annoyed by non-standard grammar like the placing of apostrophes, but to actually type the word 'said' twice, and then confuse peacocks and peahens... a ten year old could do better.
