Wycombe girl's song and dance skills celebrated

A WYCOMBE girl has won an award for her dancing and singing skills at a school in Shropshire.

Jemma Hoadley, 18, from the Daws Hill area, achieved the Head's Cup for Progress at Adcote School for Girls, in Little Ness.

She has been at the school for seven years, and was one of several talented pupils to receive end of year awards.

Jane Le Poidevin, General Secretary of the Independent Schools Association, was there to present the awards. She said: “This was a day when achievement was recognised at a school renowned for its happy, family atmosphere.”

At the awards ceremony, Mrs Le Poidevin added that this was a day when achievement was recognised at a school renowned for its happy, family atmosphere.

Headmaster, Ryan Jervis, said: “Nothing matters more than the children and ensuring that each and every girl coming to this school reaches her full potential.”

This year, Jemma attended a national dance gala at the Albert Hall, and last year went to Broadway in New York for specialist dance tuition with the school.

“I'm rather surprised, I must say, and very pleased too,” said Jemma. “It's been a great year and the school has been as friendly and encouraging as ever. It's more like being part of a family here. It's really quite emotional knowing that I'm now leaving and moving on.”

Jemma's parents, Ian and Sharon Hoadley, are based at the RAF Headquarters Air Command, at Dawes Hill, and are very proud of her.

Hmm.. if the journalist who wrote this is who I think she is, she is only 19 herself.
That is not bad going and it isn't too badly written, altho the ending is a little trite.

Slow news day.

What a waste of electrons.

Why has this student been selected for special recognition? How many 100s of students in the area covered by BFP receive equally (or, indeed, higher) awards?
