Meeting tonight on Daws Hill and sport centre plans

A PUBLIC meeting will be held tonight on plans to build more than a thousand homes in the Daws Hill area of High Wycombe and redevelop the town’s sports centre.

The meeting on the “M40 gateway” project will be held at Amersham & Wycombe College’s Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath campus from 7pm to 9pm.

Homes and offices could be built on the former RAF Daws Hill, off Daws Hill Lane, and adjoining Abbey Barn south and north.

And Wycombe District Council wants to build a coach station at Wycombe Sports Centre.

This would mean the athletics track would have to move to Sir William Ramsay School, Hazlemere, to make way.

The coach development would fund the re-development of the Handy Cross sports centre, postponed last year because of the credit crunch.

The council plans also include plans for more than 6,000 homes throughout Wycombe district and the redevelopment of High Wycombe town centre.

The Daws Hill section is on page 100.

Another meeting, on sustainability, will be held on Thursday from 7pm to 9pm at John Hampden School, Marlow Hill, High Wycombe.
