FANS of popular TV series 'Sharpe' have the chance to meet one of the stars of the show when he arrives in Bucks this weekend.

Jason Salkey, who starred as Rifleman Harris in the show alongside the likes of Sean Bean, will be the special guest at the 'Meet Sharpe's Rifles' event at the Chiltern Open Air Museum.

Members of the 95th Rifles Battalion will be battling it out at the museum in Gorelands Lane, Chalfont St Giles, and the Sharpe Appreciation Society will also be attending.

Museum Director Sue Shave says: “We are absolutely thrilled that Jason Salkey is able to join us at our weekend event called ‘Meet Sharpe’s Rifles’, and give our visitors an insight into the Napoleonic Wars.

“He will be bringing along his ‘Harris Diaries’ plus a large range of his own photos not available from anywhere else.

“This is a great chance to learn all about the Napoleonic Wars talking at first hand to the soldiers, and also to find out more about the TV series Sharpe – a real unique opportunity to go ‘behind the scenes’.”

Mr Salkey will be at the museum all day today and tomorrow.
