'Posh Woolies' to open in Beaconsfield

A NEW shop described as a "posh Woolworths" will open in Beaconsfield on Monday.

All Sorts will open in The Arcade, Maxwell Road, opposite the former Woolies store.

The former Donesco building has been taken on by Karl Ellis, 37, and John Aldridge, 56, who run Shoe Be Do cobblers next door.

They say it will do what it says on the tin.

Mr Ellis said: "One of our customers said it will be like a posh Woolworths but we'll sell all sorts really.

"Everything from power tools to bin liners and doormats."

"It's still a scary time for businesses but we think if we can get through the next year then we can do anything."

"There are lots of empty shops in the town but hopefully things are picking up."

A new Japanese Restaurant is due to open today in Beaconsfield Old Town.

Sushi restaurant Achimi will take on the former Pizza Organic buidling in London End.

Must be words with two 'os' that motivate us:

'Woolies', 'doors', 'pool'...

If only it were a 'Rooman voolla'!

What a weird concept - "posh Woolies". Why, for goodness sake? Who will shop there?
