SHOPS in Marlow will be close to being fully occupied in the next two months, Marlow Chamber of Trade believes.
A number of new retailers have filled some of the empty buildings in the town centre over the past few months, including maternity wear shop JoJo Maman Bebe, Helen and Douglas House and Bradley’s Fine jewellery.
Other vacant premises are now under offer and there has been an upsurge in commercial interest, the chamber said.
Vice president Annie Mulady said: “I think we are coming out of the recession an awful lot better than a lot of other towns. There are people moving in.
“I would estimate that in four to eight weeks we will be at nearly 100 per cent occupation.
“I would stress that not everybody is finding it easy but we are one of the towns who are actually doing something about it rather than just sitting back and moaning.”
She added: “I’m hoping that the businesses which are still there struggle on through this year and hopefully we will see recovery next year.”

I hope some of these new shops will be hairdressers, womens boutiques and Indian restaurants.
