A TV crew were in Knotty Green yesterday filming a scene for murder series Lewis – a spin-off from Inspector Morse.

Star Kevin Whatley, who plays Robbie Lewis, was filmed in The Royal Standard of England for an episode to be shown on ITV next year.

The pub has previously starred in Midsomer Murders and the hit comedy film Hot Fuzz. It will also feature in The Boys are Back – a Clive Owen comedy to be released in January.

Owner Matthew O'Keefe said: “Isn't it nice that all the old fashioned programmes still use pubs that represent a little bit of old England."
