A BEACONSFIELD care home is celebrating its 25th anniversary by hosting its biggest ever Christmas fair on Saturday.

Seeley's House day service caters for around 30 people each day, helping with social skills, physiotherapy, speech therapy and daily living.

Susie Drew, 44, from Amersham, was one of the first people to use the centre and has been going since it first opened in 1984. She suffers from learning difficulties and epilepsy.

Her mother Jean said: “The people that go there need continuity. Its very good – they take them out on daily excursions, and it also gives us a break.

"Susie loves it - she's been going there since she was 18 or 19-years-old.”

The centre will host its biggest ever Christmas fair on Saturday, November 28, from 10am - 3pm. Organised by the Friends of Seeley's House (FOSH), a registered charity, the event will help raise funds for Seeley's House.

Liz Addison, Chairwoman of FOSH, whose daughter has been visiting the day centre for more than ten years, said: “The Christmas fair this year will be a great day out for all the family and a brilliant opportunity to bag some unique Christmas gifts.

“We're hoping to raise money for much-needed improvements to the centre, including a sensory garden and a trampoline to help with physiotherapy.”
