A DIAMOND heist and a crystal raffle saw a Gerrards Cross women's group raise more than £2,000 for charity.

Beta Sigma Phi, a US-style 'sorority', sold 150 tickets for a fundraising evening at the National Film & Television School in Beaconsfield recently.

Crystal earrings were the top prize in the raffle before guests watched the Michael Caine heist movie, Flawless.

The club, part of the international organisation Beta Sigma Phi, adopts a charity each year and all the proceeds of activities and events held are channelled into the charity. This year the proceeds went to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.

Linda Johnson who organised the raffle for the film event said: “Flawless is a thrilling story of a diamond heist so we ensured that all of the raffle prizes sparkled from the stunning crystal ear rings to the flawless paperweight.

"We would like to thank all the many friends who so generously bought raffle tickets and all the friends who donated the prizes.”
