A SPEED radar will monitor drivers day and night on a Cookham road where two youngsters have been injured.
It will collect data for a survey to assess the scale of the problem on Lower Road following a public meeting on November 3 when worried parents demanded action.
Mothers said the road was "unsafe".
A flashing speed indicator will also be placed on the street, either in the run up to Christmas or in the new year.
The temporary device, designed to make drivers think about the speed they are going, is used on various roads around the area on a rotation basis.
It will be in place for a week.
Officers at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, who attended the November meeting, are exploring other possible traffic 'calming' measures.
Tony Carr, Traffic and Road Safety Manager, said: “At the moment we can't say exactly when it will be going on Lower Road, but following the concerns expressed, the plan is to draw up some ideas for traffic measures there which will be put back to the residents and parish council.”
A second public meeting will be held before the end of January.
Plans and photos of the road may be put on display at the parish council offices in High Road for householders to comment on beforehand.
Around 50 villagers, ranging from schoolchildren to pensioners, gathered for the original meeting.
