Amersham and Chesham has Britain's biggest carbon footprint

HOUSEHOLDERS in Amersham and Chesham produce more carbon dioxide than anyone else in the country, a new survey has revealed.

Research by data analysts Experian shows the average home in the Parliamentary constituency covering the two south Bucks towns produces 29.18 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

Neighbouring Beaconsfield was third on the list, with the average household producing 28.79 tonnes per year.

High Wycombe was 44th, with its 25.55 tonnes per household still well above the national average of 21.95 tonnes.

The lowest emissions were produced in the Glasgow North East constituency, where the average home emits 16.37 tonnes of CO2 annually.

Probably right. The energy to light up a house in Beaconsfield for a week would probably keep a street in Glasgow going for a year

It's because of all the extra journeys they are making from Chesham to Amersham to get to a post office!

I thought that it would have been WDC council offices, with all the hot air that emanates from there.

Another good reason why we don't want a waste incinerator which produces huge amouns of CO2 in the area....it will make the carbon footprint in the area even worse!!!!
