WYCOMBE district residents will be able to leave out extra rubbish bags after Christmas to help clear a backlog caused by this week's snow.
Green bin collections were suspended by Wycombe District Council this week to allow refuse collectors to concentrate on recycling boxes and normal waste.
Some bins have not been emptied this week as refuse lorries were not able to get to peoples' houses.
A statement from the council said today: “If we have been unable to catch up with your collections during the run up to Christmas we will revert to the advertised catch up schedules - from Christmas onwards.
“Please refer to the recently delivered bank holiday collection information for details of when your collections are due.
“To help you through this difficult period, we will collect additional refuse bags that are presented alongside your grey wheeled bin, but please be aware that this is only during your first refuse collection after Christmas.
“Residents are asked to assist collections by presenting bins and boxes by 7am and not blocking access or roads with vehicles.”
Meanwhile, bin collections in the Chiltern district are to go ahead “where possible”.
Chiltern District Council said: “Time and weather permitting we will attempt to collect missed refuse from Tuesdays black sack and bin waste.”
