Plans to rebuild Hurricane Rooms unveiled

A POOL club which had its roof collapse earlier this year could re-open after developers made a bid to rebuild it.

The roof of the Hurricane Rooms in Corporation Street, High Wycombe, gave way in June and trapped a worker (see story, below).

This week, Future Leisure submitted plans to Wycombe District Council to reconstruct it.

Plans include a raised roof to replace the previous flat one that collapsed. This would include a new mezzanine floor.

The proposals also include a new storage area, staircase and outside smoking area.

A decision on whether to grant planning permission will be made by the council next year.

Well i hope WDC does look into this plan very carefully as all or most of the people that frequented this haunt before was actually underage. They need to tighten up the security as it was very laxed before the roof fell in on them. Obviously WDC enforcemnet officers were not doing their job as per usual. I hope they get a grip this time round ???????
