HIGH Wycombe actor Aaron Johnson hits cinema screens around the country today in a new film about John Lennon.
The 19-year-old graduated from the Jackie Palmer Stage School on Daws Hill Lane last year before landing the lead role in Nowhere Boy – the début feature from conceptual artist Sam Taylor-Wood.
Johnson plays the legendary Beatle in his "lonely" teenage years, starring alongside British actress Kristin Scott Thomas.
Taylor-Wood, 42, the film's director, was nominated for the prestigious Turner Prize in 1998 and was later commissioned to make a video portrait of David Beckham sleeping.
She and Johnson hit the headlines in October when they announced they were a couple and were planning to get married.
In previous roles Johnson has played a young Edward Norton in The Illusionist, featured in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging and stars opposite Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon in his next release, The Greatest.
