THE A406 eastbound has now been re-opened, following an investigation into a fatal accident which happened this morning.

A woman was killed after a collision involving two cars between A105 Green Lanes (Clockhouse Interchange) and A10 Great Cambridge Road (Great Cambridge Interchange) in the early hours of this morning.

Police and ambulance crews were called at 4.26am after two cars crashed at the A406 junction with Green Lanes in Palmers Green.

Three women and a man were involved in the crash. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.10am. Another woman is in critical condition, while the third is in a serious condition. The male victim is not seriously injured, but all three have been taken to hospital.

One of the cars involved in the crash failed to stop at the scene, while the second car, a white Honda, did stop, before the occupants made off on foot.

Enfield police officers the Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to investigate.

There have been no arrests.
