More snow again tonight

More snow again tonight More snow again tonight

YET more snow is forecast for South Buckinghamshire tonight.

According to the latest Met Office predictions light snow will hit High Wycombe at about 9pm and last through most of the night.

There could be snow throughout most of Sunday which looks likely to persist on Monday as well.

The beginning of a long thaw, predicted to last as long as three weeks by some forecasters, could come on Tuesday.

Temperatures look set to remain at below freezing for the next five days.

Schools hope to open on Monday after closures this week.

For more updates on schools check the Bucks Free Press on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Wycombe market has succumbed to the weather and is shut again today.

So according to this story the thaw is supposed to start on Tuesday, yet we are supposed to be remaining at below zero temperatures for at least the next 5 days? Does this reporter even know basic maths?

oxfordshire and berkshire and forecast for more heavy snow Wednesday, we are right on the borderline for this to hit us. No thaw this week according to the met office

I bet London (where little snow has fallen) has plenty of salt!
Which idiot put the government in charge of salt distribution?

Hopefuly we will get off a little lighter this time round. The weather maps look like not all of the snow will be over us.

I have cancelled January and that is all I have to say on the matter.
I am sitting here with my computer. I have wine, chocolate and coffee and I refuse to move.
I have been out today on a brave adventure - but no more.

Would like to give credit to Chiltern Railways who have managed to keep the trains running through all of this.
.
Also to my daughters private nursery who also seemed to remain open.
.
If only we had a government/council that was run so well.

Some might suggest that we should Let it Be, me, I feel that we should all Come Together with a Little Help from our Friends.
So please don't wake me cos I'm only sleeping.

You have to do what is right for you and the safety of your family. Don't let others judge you for it :-)

I think the thing that troubles me is not all of us are happy with driving in these conditions as others. There seems to be an almost oneupmanship with people ."Well I got to ........ so why can't everyone" is the attitude.
Well as I said previously. I have a small car which is automatic. I am not going to risk my personal safety so I can be all self righteous. If you are experienced in driving in these conditions, then go for it. If like me however you find it a stressful experience then stay safe.

I am sure the people who have appropriate vehicles would rather slightly nervous people like myself stay out of the way anyhow. :)

I find it very frustrating that NO attempt has been made to clear Lane End Primary School of the resent snow. The school is so far open tomorrow as its not yet been put on the buckscc website. What annoys me the most is that this could have been cleared of snow last week but no effort has been made by the caretaker, teachers or parents

You seem to forget that we are in the age of claiming compensation for any little thing. You clear your path of snow, it freezes over, someone slips and whether they hurt themselves or not, they will sue you for as much as they can get. Clear the paths and playgrounds in schools and little Johnny slips up and hurts himself. Mum and dad will sue the school for again what they can get. That is just what this society has turned into. When I was young and you slipped up, you picked yourself up, dusted the snow off and carried on what you were doing but a lot more carefully. You learnt by your mistakes.

I agree with Demoness. it's not a competition and why risk the NCD unless as an emergency.
There seems to have been a small thaw in Downley but if it freezes again overnight it will be nasty in the morning.
A few more uplifting Beatle-isms: I'll Follow the Sun if I can get some Chains but take care, Please Mr Postman, Because, otherwise it could end in Misery. I think it's Getting Better and It Won't be Long before we can sing Here comes the Sun,Dooh-dee dooh dooh dooh!!!
