AN ELDERLY woman has died after the car she was driving left the road and flipped onto its side in a ditch by the A404.

The accident happened at around 2pm on Saturday opposite the junction of the A404, Amersham Road, with Penn Street.

The road was closed in both directions while emergency services attended the scene.

Police believe the 73-year-old from Holmer Green, had a “medical incident” at the wheel of her green Honda Jazz before the car entered a ditch and ended up on its side.

A wheel trim, forensic gloves and the remnants of police tape can also be found at the scene, alongside a police sign appealing for information to the incident.

No other car was involved in the accident. Contact police on 0845 8 505 505.
