POLICE are still investigating the death of a man in the toilets of Rayners Lane Tube station nearly three weeks ago.

John Slingerland, 36, of no fixed abode, was believed to have been taking drugs with his friend, an unnamed 24-year-old man from Uxbridge, in one of the cubicles on the night of Sunday, June 6.

The friend reported his death just after 11pm, and British Transport Police closed the station until 7.30am the following morning while the scene was examined by forensics experts.

Mr Slingerland's body was taken to Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow, but on Monday the BTP said the exact cause of his death was still not yet known, although it is believed to be drug related.

The 24-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder, but released on police bail pending further enquiries.
