Mounted police to come to Chalfont St Peter

POLICE on horseback will be taking to the streets of Chalfont St Peter this afternoon as part of a clampdown on anti-social behaviour.

Mounted officers will be in the centre of the village from 2-5pm as part of Operation Confidence.

Officers will also be in Amersham on March 17, Chesham on March 18 and 25 and Great Missenden on March 24 as part of Thames Valley Police's operation aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour in the Chiltern district.

A new 'Have Your Say' initiative also begins this week, with residents having the chance to speak to their local officers.

On Friday 12, police will be at the Co-op in Great Missenden from 10am-12.30pm, The Shop at The Lee from 11am-1pm and Tesco in Old Amersham from 3.30-5.30pm.

They will also be at Seer Green Baptist Church from 7-8pm on March 23 and Chesham Market from 11am-1pm on March 27.

2 - 5pm!? The best time to tackle anti social behaviour - come on. What's needed is some sort of presence in the evenings!

"Operation Confidence"!!!!!!
~
In other words:
"We will stick a few extra coppers in a few places for a few hours. Just in case nobody notices them we will stick them on horses. Hopefully that will keep the people quiet for a while. Of course that won't do anything at all to solve the problem, but that is not what we are here for. We are here to make the people believe that something is being done and that we take their safety seriously."

Who gets to go round with the bucket and shovel after they have left? There will be some horse manure lying around, however be careful as most of what you see will be bull manure.

Horses should not be allowed on the roads. They should be kept in fields or on race tracks.

The people behind these shocking crimes (beatings, racist graffiti etc.) have already been described by the police on this website.
