WEST Wycombe Parish Council has got the thumbs up and once again received the Quality status award for its hard work.

To achieve Quality status a parish council has to pass ten specified tests including holding effective, efficient meetings and actively engaging with the public.

At last night's parish council meeting chairman Vicki Smith was presented the award by chairman of Buckinghamshire Association of Local Councils Patrick Martin.

He said: “This is fantastic for West Wycombe parish council. It is done by having a very good clerk, good councillors who work for the community and the community themselves- without their support you wouldn't get this.”

The council will have quality status for the next four years and there are currently 17 other parish councils with the award in Buckinghamshire.

Cllr Smith said: “We are absolutely thrilled. It is a very good thing for our parish.

“We are doing this for all our residents here- for them to know we are running a very efficient parish council.”
