Bourne End library packed for teen pop concert

ABOUT 150 teenagers flouted the normal rules at Bourne End library this week as they crammed in to witness the venue's first pop concert.

Pop group Daisy Dares You played to a raucous crowd in the new extension on Wednesday, and the librarian thought was the highest number of people to ever be in the Wakeman Road library at once.

But rather than telling the youngsters to shush Inka D'Agostino was thrilled to see the sell out crowd enjoying the show.

She said: “It was a bit strange but it was absolutely brilliant. It's exciting to have so many young people here and I'd love to do it again.”

Daisy Dares You entered the UK charts this week with new single Number One Enemy.

She has been playing a series of shows around the country as part of the 'Get it Loud' programme of live music in public libraries.

The project aims to allow "more relevant cultural access" for youngsters who love music but don’t normally use libraries.

Organisers said it is proving a popular original format for delivering the traditional library brief to entertain, inform and educate.
