WYCOMBE District Council has signalled its intention on mooted proposals for a new stadium by advertising for a stadium planning project officer.

The successful applicant would be awarded a fixed term contract until July 2012 and earn between £38,655 and £44, 378 per year, with a “generous benefits package” and “final salary pension scheme.”

The covering documents state the project officer would “contribute at senior professional level to the development of sound planning policy for the delivery of a new stadium” and “lead policy drafting and day-to-day running of the stadium project”.

Other responsibilities include “the coordination of consultants and evidence gathering and adherence to both the defined timetable and to local and statutory procedures.”

The job advert is posted on the council's website (click link below).

Council cabinet members last month approved a major £500,000 consultation that could see its planning policy changed to permit a new stadium.

Wycombe Air Park is thought to be a preferred choice for the stadium, which would re-house Wycombe Wanderers and London Wasps.

The council will put cash into building the stadium and have a stake in its ownership.
