Woman from Coleshill puts up £1,000 reward to find cat

CAT owner Lyndsey Haley has put up a £1,000 reward in a bid to find Lukey - her “furry baby” who went missing two weeks ago.

The Coleshill resident has been desperately searching for the ten-year-old cat, and said she will not give up until she finds him.

She said: “He just the sweetest little boy - everyone falls in love with him when they see him.

“I'd be so grateful to anyone that found him. They would be my absolute hero and I'd be crying all over them.

Lukey, who has red fur and green eyes, went missing on March 2 and Miss Haley said: “On the internet I found a story about a cat which turned up eight years later - so I won't give up.”

The 49-year-old fears the worst because Lukey has a heart condition which means he can “only go so long without his pills”.

She said: “I want to know so I can stop the search. I really thought I'd find him by now but if the point comes when I know he's gone I'll be devastated.”

Lukey also has a peachy/white coloured chest and Miss Haley said his brother Morphy has also been looking for him.

She said: “Morphy's been putting his head down rabbit boroughs and looking down drains for him – he's really upset.

“I'm not a mad cat woman but I absolutely adore my furry babies and dote on them. I've never wanted to have children but I've always loved having cats.

If you have found Lukey or have any information at all as to his whereabouts contact Animal Search UK on 0800 4 320 340 or email info@animalsearchuk.co.uk Capture is not necessary for reward to be paid, information needed that leads to his safe return. The reward will be paid at the owner/insurance company’s discretion.

They need to sort out these GPS receivers so they are small enough to embed into an animal like a cat. It would save everyone the hassle of finding them then. Oohh just came up with a business plan there!

"Lukey, who has red fur and green eyes"... & "also has a peachy/white coloured chest"?
I think I may have seen him on Sesame Street a couple of times...

from successfull experience the best time to search is late at night when its quiet.
break your area into segments and keep searching, and if you have a gut feeling/daft idea to search a different area from the one you were planning , do it.
Good luck, 4 years my current record for missing cats showing up again.
and at this time of year theres enough rain and small things running around to eat

I feel really sad for you. As for you lot taking the p***, have a heart will you and grow up a little bit, this lady is very clearly distressed. I'd be the same if it was one of my dogs missing. Good luck and I really hope he comes home.

I have to admit I feel the same as Wanda. I really hope she finds her cat soon. I hve recently moved and have got to let my lovely cat out for the first time soon - I am dreading it but to keep him in forever is cruel. :(

I bet she lives on her own and the cat is a surrogate Child / husband.

the poor cat is better off out of it.

furthermore, You don't own a cat, the cat stays with you because it enjoys staying there and eating your food.

a cat is an independant creature, and once bored, or fed up of being treated like a human child, they will up sticks and move on to someone else.

Good luck. It's important to leaflet the neighbourhood too, as we got our cat back like that.
Demoness- there are several good tips available online for letting your cat out for the first time, like letting it out before breakfast, so the cat is hungry, that way you can call it back for the meal if you get nervous. Good luck to you too.

Awww good luck. Maybe put him out in his basket for a while so he gets used to the new smells. When you do let him out, cook fish!!!!! He'll soon come running!

"“Morphy's been putting his head down rabbit boroughs and looking down drains for him – he's really upset. "

'Boroughs' are they divisions in Rabbitopolis, or do they bear any resemblance to burrows - i.e. holes in the ground as opposed to holes in cities?

OK, you've lost me now.....

Hit me HARD! To paraphrase John McEnroe; "You cannot be serious!"

The article says that the missing moggie's sibling was looking down rabbit boroughs (sic). It is rabbit burrows! If we cannot rely on professional writers to spell and choose words correctly, what hope for the rest of us?

Are you accusing the BFP of employing professionals?

And since we are on the subject, can you let people who post on here that they don't need to separate their paragraphs with
-
or anything else for that matter.

Sorry - it annoys me.....
