A BMW owner looking to sell his car had it stolen during a test drive in High Wycombe.
While out on the test drive, the owner of the silver BMW 330 pulled into the Shell service station in Marlow Road before getting out the vehicle.
The thief then got into the driver's seat while the owner was out the car and drove off in the direction of the M40.
The incident happened at 9.20pm last Friday evening. Details have been released by Thames Valley Police today as a witness appeal was launched.
Officers describe the offender as white, 6ft1ins tall and slim. He is described as looking weather-beaten and has fair-coloured hair.
