WE were disappointed to drop two points against Oldham having come from behind to take a 2-1 lead.

Having battled back into the game, it was unforgiveable to chuck the lead away 40 seconds later. We should know better than that and I'm telling you, it will never happen again.

It was frustrating because we'd done so well to get back into the match after falling behind to my own goal.

Former Chesham man Wayne Andrews claimed it, but sadly I got the last touch. Without my intervention I think Frank Talia would have saved it.

Luckily I made up for it by scoring my third penalty this season. I love taking them. It's a real battle of minds.

Unusually though, I did have a rare negative thought just before it. I've only missed one penalty in my career. That was against Brentford when Danny Senda was brought down.

It was Danny who was brought down again on Saturday and for a second that thought went through my mind. I got rid of it as quickly, made my mind up where I was going to put it and slotted the ball away.

I don't practice penalties in training because there is no pressure. It is not the same situation. I just see penalties as a passing exercise.

Hopefully we will get another one at Luton on Saturday. Luton were the last side to beat us and we owe them.

Having taken four points off Oldham this season, I'm surprised to see them in second place. I think we've met better sides than them but I'm pleased to see their two former Chesham lads do so well.

Fitz Hall looked their best player by some distance. He plays with an old head on young shoulders. I was also pleased for Wayne Andrews.

I remember him from his days at Watford. Things didn't work out for him there and he drifted into the non-league.

He's like myself, Dave Carroll and Jason Cousins. We've all done other jobs while outside the pro game and when that happens to you, you don't want to go back there.

Wayne has been given a second chance and he seems to be grabbing it.
