TWO "honeys" are bidding to become the face of 2004 by winning a magazine's beauty competition.

Sabrina Roche, 21, a customer services representative of Temple End, High Wycombe, and Marie-Claire Budden, 19, of Chesham, are in the running for FHM's High Street Honeys 2004 competition in which readers vote for their favourite girl.

Entrants send in photos of themselves in revealing outfits and the magazine's readers vote for the one they like the most.

Sabrina and Marie-Claire are two of 100 girls featuring in the competition with the eventual winner netting £10,000 and a place on the magazine's front cover.

Sabrina said: "I have never done anything like this before.

It would be amazing if I won but I'm not being too confident.

"I am really happy to be in the last 100 because apparently there were 4,000 entrants."

Sabrina nominated herself for the competition by sending in a beach photo of herself without telling boyfriend Paul.

She said: "After I found out I was in the 100 I told him. I think he was quite proud.

"My mum Jackie was really happy for me and I got loads of calls from friends after they saw my picture in the magazine."

The two girls, who both have aspirations to become models, have been out and about in pubs and clubs trying to get people to vote for them.

Marie-Claire was nominated by friend Robbie Christian, and hopes the winning prize money will help her pay for her car.

She said: "I was really surprised as I thought they would just be looking for blondes.

"But I hope I can get to the last ten at least, maybe someone will see me and give me some modelling work. I work in a bar in Watford and I have been trying to get as many votes as I can.

"The landlord is really happy.

So far the reaction has been really positive."

You can vote for Sabrina and Marie-Claire by emailing honeysvote@fhm.com, filling in a voting slip from the FHM High Street Honey supplement or online at FHM.com/honeysvote.

Voting will end at midnight on September 1.
