CATTLE and sheep, handsome horses and military motorcycle teams are just some of the attractions at next week's Thame and Oxfordshire County Show.

Organisers of the agricultural show which is now in its 136th year are expecting as many as 20,000 visitors to the site in Kingsey Road, Thame, next Thursday.

Andrew Duffy, show chairman, said: "This year even more local businesses and suppliers have rallied round to guarantee the event's success. This includes a number of local businesses and individuals who've all dug deep to sponsor the prize funds of the now historic sheep and cattle classes.

"The classes are a highlight of the show and are a fantastic opportunity for local farmers to showcase the superb quality of the livestock bred in the area."

Other local businesses at the show include those making home-cooked delicacies all of which are available in the food hall. Handmade gifts are also for sale in the craft tent.

Popular family favourites at the show also include the Band of the Hussars and Light Dragoons and the Parade of the Hounds.

Family tickets are offered at a discounted price, but only in advance.
