AN ARMY adventure beckoned Ealing mayor Ian Potts as he joined in with the launch on London Soldier '04.

Cllr Potts and Hillingdon representative, Cllr Brian Crowe took part along with thousands of Londoners in the three-day event at Chelsea Barracks at the beginning of the month.

London Soldier '04 is the Armed Forces' biggest recruiting campaign in the capital.

Its aim is to showcase every facet of army life and involved demonstrations by members of the regular army, reserve forces and cadets.

Cllrs Potts and Crowe joined local soldiers at Chelsea Barracks and were impressed by the range of jobs and opportunities available for reservists.

Cllr Potts said: "It's amazing.
