HOUSEHOLDERS are rallying to protect their town after a spate of high density housing applications.
The Beaconsfield Campaign Group claims its membership numbers are being swelled by people anxious to protect the streets in which they live.
More than 700 people are now members of the group in the town, they claim.
Group spokesman Rod Whyte said: "There is increasing public concern over the unplanned way new higher density housing is being imposed on Beaconsfield without regard for the cumulative impact it is having."
Acquest Developments has applied for permission to build 13 houses in North Drive, Holtspur.
Cllr Les Davis said: "This is the third significant development in this area."
Fellow councillor Ken Brown said: "New developers have identified Holtspur as a suitable location to build high-density housing. I think local authorities should be more protective to this piecemeal, infilling development of housing."
