ROADWORKS which have been going on since July at the top of Marlow Hill in High Wycombe will come to an end on Thursday.
Normal service will resume at 9.30am when the new sets of traffic lights should be switched on.
The work has been carried out by Buckinghamshire County Council to improve traffic flow in an area where peak hour jams are made worse by school buses off-loading and collecting school children.
It involved putting in "intelligent" traffic lights which react to traffic at junctions, installing crossings for pedestrians and improving traffic flow along the A404, where traffic coming up from Wycombe and turning right, holds up traffic coming into High Wycombe.
The roundabout at the junction has been cut back to provide an extra lane and the existing lay-by used by school buses has been lengthened.
