NEARLY 100 VILLAGERS packed the Royal British Legion hall last week for the first open meeting to discuss the proposed Village Design Statement. The advantage of a good VDS was explained and its power to influence future development. The statement needs the support of as many residents as possible if it is to influence the planning committees. It is imperative that villagers continue to attend subsequent meetings so their views can be part of a mutually agreed document for the benefit of the village.

Anyone wishing to contribute should contact Graham Carter of the Residents Association. Details of the meeting will be available in the library, and on the parish and residents association websites.
