ART students at Sir William Ramsay School have showcased their work at an exhibition at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
The display coincided with the national launch of the Young Person's Arts award to encourage the development of future artists.
David Lammy, culture minister, and Peter Hewitt, chief executive of the arts council for England, attended the exhibition and viewed the work of the students from the school in Rose Avenue, Hazlemere.
The artwork was produced by pupils piloting the award last year.
Annie Hearne, arts college coordinator and teacher at the school, praised the work of her pupils.
She said: "The scheme has enabled students to build their confidence, build on existing skills and challenge themselves through the arts. We are very proud to have this work recognised nationally."
The young person's arts award is the first accredited youth arts scheme that recognises the need to develop creativity in students.
Participants have the chance to enjoy the arts, build on their skills and also lead projects in the community.
Mrs Hearne said that sixth form members of Sir William Ramsay have been leading workshops for younger pupils during a series of family learning days at the school as part of the award.
