Wedding photographer snaps up top award

A PHOTOGRAPHER has won a top award for his "innovative" wedding pictures taken around the Marlow area.

Mark Lord, 29, from Watlington, beat off competition from more than 3,000 rivals to win the UK Wedding Photographer of the Year award at the 2005 British Professional Photography Awards. Mr Lord is the co-director of photography company Lord and Leverett, which does most of its weddings around Marlow and Henley. He was delighted to win recognition at a national level after just five years as a professional photographer.

"I was amazed to hear my name read out at the awards ceremony. There are a lot of photographers I admire who enter this," he said.

More than 350 photographers attended the ceremony at Coventry's Hilton Hotel on October 16.
