A NEW website will give residents the opportunity to talk about hot topics in Beaconsfield.
www.beaconsfield.co.uk has been set up by 21-year-old graphic design student Tom Keeling, of Seer Green, and is expected to be up and running by the end of May.
Still in its early stages, the website will have a discussion forum where residents can voice their opinions on issues relating to Beaconsfield.
Mr Keeling, a student at the University of the Arts in London (formerly known as the London Institute), said: "When I was doing some freelance design work in Beaconsfield it became apparent to me that there was no website for the town.
"So in October I took over the web address from its previous owner, who just did not have time to run it.
"It's still in its early stages but I'm hoping it will open up some dialogue' in Beaconsfield.
"I have spent a lot of time getting everything on there about the town including its history."
Mr Keeling, who was a pupil at Davenies Preparatory School in Station Road, and then Dr Challoner's Grammar School in Chesham Road, Amersham, has been busy working on the site for several months after buying the rights to the web address.
He is also working on the site with the town council which has its own section that it will use to keep residents up to date on what's going on.
Also on the site are pages for businesses and schools.
If it takes off, Mr Keeling and his website programmer Gordon Dent, also 21, plan to create other websites for other towns in the area. He said: "We are hoping this will be really successful."
