Going daffy with daffodils helps cancer appeal

DAFFY the daffodil was in full bloom in High Wycombe last week to launch the Marie Curie Cancer Care Great Daffodil Appeal.

The appeal mascot joined Buckinghamshire Chiltern University College (BCUC) students at the campus in Queen Alexandra Road, High Wycombe, to invite people to help raise money for the cancer charity.

Passers-by were given daffodils to take home to promote the appeal which organisers hope will raise £4million nationwide for people who are terminally ill with cancer to spend their last days in the comfort of their own familiar surroundings.

On Saturday, March 11, BCUC students will hand out daffodils in exchange for a £1 donation at Asda in Holmers Farm Way. Flowers will also be available to buy from shops in the town.

The charity is looking for volunteers to help with this year's appeal.
