ONE of the first jobs for Wycombe’s new MP will be to launch a scheme to get the town walking on Saturday.
Conservative Steve Baker, who was voted in at Thursday's General Election, will walk through a giant paper banner in the Eden Centre at 11am this morning to signal the launch of the campaign.
High Wycombe town mayor Julie Pritchard will also be helping to kick the event off.
Walk Wycombe is a Transport for Buckinghamshire initiative to increase the number of people who walk in and around High Wycombe, as part of a healthy lifestyle.
To help local walkers, five notice boards have been installed around the town centre, on which 3D maps highlight three new walks – Town Walk, Heritage Walk and Rye Walk.
