HIGH Wycombe's singing star Daniel Pearce has shot to the top of the charts with hip hop heavyweight Dizzee Rascal.

Daniel sings the chorus on Dirtee Disco which went straight into number one on Sunday knocking Nothing On You by B.o.B off the top spot.

It is the first number one single for Daniel who was the former member of One True Voice, which won the 2002 Popstars: The Rivals.

Their first single was beaten to the top spot by Girls Aloud and they split after their second song was released.

Last year Daniel got to Boot Camp on X-Factor on ITV1 but did not make it through to the next stage as Simon Cowell said he wanted to give someone “a first chance.”

The 32-year-old lives in Totteridge with his wife Charlotte and sons, Jude and Gabriel.

Daniel had previously done backing vocals for Dizzee Rascal's Dance Wiv Me and Holiday.

He features in the Dirtee Disco video without his infamous mohican which he dyed different colours throughout the X-Factor heats last year and performed the track with Dizzee on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

When he spoke to the Bucks Free Press he said: “When I won Popstars in 2002 I thought that was it and I was all set to be a star. But it all started going down hill quite quickly - I'm all about the music and it was all too generic.

"They promised that we'd be able to write our own songs but we weren't given any creative licence at all.”

He is working on his album which he hopes will be out this year.
