A YOUNG designer who names her shoes after British Queens has been selected to include work in an Italian collection of fashion and art.

Victoria Geaney, of Wattleton Road in Beaconsfield, is Britain's only representative in a new collection from What's More Alive Than You! – a project which is promoting the work of 12 talented students from around the world.

The 22-year-old has based her collection of shoes on “natural forms and the local environment”, with digital floral prints on recycled materials.

She said: "I was really excited when I first got the email from them.

"They have actually made some prototypes and sent them to me - it's great to see my designs actually being made."

Miss Geaney works at Cliche Clothes on Station Road and said her boss is going to put the shoes on display in the shop window.

She has named the shoes after Queens to 'emphasise the historical roots of the designs'.

She has just graduated from the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom and is hoping to kick-start her career in the industry. Her shoes will be available to order online.
