Two injured in car accident

TWO pedestrians are in hospital after a car collision in Market Square, Marlow yesterday.

A 74-year-old woman from Station Road, Marlow sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Wexham Park Hospital and is in a stable condition.

A 16-year-old boy from Newfield Gardens, Marlow sustained minor injuries and was treated at Wexham Park Hospital before being released.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision which happened at approximately 4.40pm at the roundabout junction of the High Street with Spittal Street and involved a green Morris Minor classic car and the two pedestrians.

Shoppers and shop workers lifted the car to free the pensioner, witnesses said.

Two fire engines from Marlow and High Wycombe attended. Firefighters assisted South Central Ambulance Service and made the scene safe.
