Handbags stolen from cars in Flackwell Heath and Cookham

POLICE are investigating whether two snatch thefts at the weekend are related after two women had their handbags stolen as they sat in their cars.

At 12.46am on Sunday morning a woman pulled into her driveway in Wood Lane, Flackwell Heath when someone opened her car door and took her handbag.

Police say she chased the suspect who then ran in the direction of Marlow Hill.

PC Ben Symons from the Wycombe Priority Team said police are appealing for information to help the enquiry.

He added: “I am particularly interested in the driver of a small white van who could have seen the incident in passing. He is not a suspect and we would like to speak to him as a witness.”

On Saturday night at 11.50pm a woman parked her car by her house in Whyteladyes Lane, Cookham when a man opened her car door and stole her handbag, before running away.

Earlier in the month two cars blocked in a woman motorist in Oxford Road, Stokenchurch between 8.45pm and 10.10pm on August 9 and a man attempted to grab her handbag, but she held onto it.

Police are investigating whether these incidents are related. Anyone with information should call Thames Valley Police on 08458505505 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
