AN anti-high speed rail campaigner is writing a feature on historic buildings set to be affected by a new line – and wants the help of Bucks Free Press readers.
Lizzy Williams hit the headlines after walking the length of the planned High Speed 2 railway line between Birmingham and London to raise awareness of the impact it will have on the country.
The 36-year-old from Northamptonshire is also busy writing a book about her experiences of life while walking the planned line, which is set to cut through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Buckinghamshire.
She said: “I want peoples' advice on what historic buildings are at risk and what status or grade they have. They may not be listed but they may have significant heritage.”
Speaking of the walk she said: “It's been a success. We've raised public awareness and we've offered support to people on the line who don't have support from anyone else at the moment.”
She added: “We are trying to motivate people to oppose this.”

The M40 possibly had a bigger physical impact on the Chilterns.
Further back in time the Grand Union canal cut its swathe through the Chilterns.
Move on!!
