PLAYERS and fans gave a minute's applause at Saturday's Wycombe Wanderers home game to remember two High Wycombe residents who died in tragic circumstances.
Andrew Brown, 30, died on October 2 in a plane crash in Peru when it had to make an emergency landing on the way to visit The Nazca Lines tourist attraction.
Eight-year-old Olivia Chandler died after suffering an asthma attack at Ash Hill Primary School on September 30.
Andrew's dad, Peter, from Tylers Green said: “It was a lovely tribute. It wasn't easy but it was very much appreciated.
“We were able to go pitch side and the club were very kind. It was good to see the players stayed on the pitch too and applauded.”
Andrew's brother, Matthew, 25, and grandad Viv Owens also attended. Andrew had been a fan of the club since he was six and a season ticket holder since he was 13.
Mr Brown, 62, added: “It was Andrew's regular Saturday entertainment. He made a lot of friends there.”
Andrew's funeral is on Friday, October 22 at the Milton Chapel, Chilterns Crematorium at 1pm. Family flowers only, donations will go to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust c/o Beacon Funeral Service, 27 Rose Avenue, Hazlemere, Bucks. HP15 7PH. 01494 818181.
Olivia's funeral has been held.
