A 42-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for running a brothel at his High Wycombe home.

Martin Sewell, an electrical engineer who has also made, starred in and sold pornographic films, was sentenced to one year in prison for the offence.

His partner, Katrina Sorensen, 49, was also convicted of managing the brothel at 131 Deeds Grove for a period in 2008, but was given a suspended sentence.

Judge Christopher Tyrer told the pair at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday: "It's perfectly plain from the evidence that both of you were keeping a brothel."

But he said there was no evidence of "coercion" in either case and a girl who had worked for the pair as a prostitute was a "willing volunteer".

Judge Tyrer told Sorensen he was concerned about her state of health, adding he believed she had been "led".

She was given a nine month suspended prison sentence and ordered to do 180 hours of unpaid work.

Sewell was also sentenced to nine months in prison for possessing three fire arms without the required certificates. That sentence is to run consecutively.

Both were convicted by a unanimous verdict at Aylesbury Crown Court last month.

A film played to jurors appeared to show two prostitutes stripping and posing, while answering phone calls from clients.

A girl called 'Chloe' listed sexual services and prices to one client, before telling them who was working that day and directing them to the house.

Sewell told jurors he had filmed the scene, but said it was all part of a “fantasy role play” which was staged for the camera.

The court heard Sewell, now of Stile Meadow in Beaconsfield, was mainly living at the Deeds Grove property in 2008.

The father-of-two said he specialises in hardcore films, but claimed the 'soft porn' film shown to jurors features a “working girl prostitute scenario”.

Sorensen also appears in the film to list 'prostitute services' to clients over the telephone, though she told the court she was acting. No clients or sex were shown in the film.

Sorensen told jurors she has run a fetish business for 15 years, selling products to “people who are very shy... who don't like going to Ann Summers”.

She pays tax and clients come to Deeds Grove to buy the items, but she said there is never any sexual contact.

A newspaper advert offering a 'girlfriend experience' and a 'clean and discreet service' with Sorensen's mobile number was also shown to jurors.

She said her customers understand this to mean the fetish items on offer, as well as the adult films she makes with her partner.

She said a text message found on her phone was from a regular customer and was not asking for sexual services. It read: “Is Chloe available for half an hour? Any time is good for me.”

The charge of running a brothel related to a period in June and July 2008. The pair were arrested on July 21 that year and the court heard that while in custody Sorensen told police officers she worked as a prostitute.

The custody record quotes her as saying she “didn't work on the streets as she had regular clients at her home” and “when she got busy she got other girls to help her out”, the court heard.

But under cross-examination three police officers said they had not recorded what Sorensen said at the time.

Two officers recorded her comments five weeks later, while another did not make a statement until March this year, though all were “sure” she said she was a prostitute, jurors heard.

Sorensen said she told officers she was a “working lady”, meaning she had many different jobs, including cleaning, fixing cars and mowing grass.

A book listing sexual services and prices was found at Deeds Grove by police, but Sewell said it was in his 'props bag' and belonged to a girl he had worked with several years before.
