TWO graduates with a sense of adventure have made it to their destination in South Africa after covering 15,000 miles in a Land Rover.

Carl James, from Chalfont St Peter, and Tom Picton, from Beaconsfield set off from Buckinghamshire eight months ago.

They have reached Die Hel, near Cape Town, and now face the long journey home.

Carl said: “We have now reached Die Hel, though not without issues- the engine blew up en route requiring a total rebuild.”

They have dubbed their feat, To Hel and Back, and have been travelling in a P-Reg Land Rover Defender to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research and Link Ethiopia. They are hoping to raise £10,000.
