PUPILS at Princes Risborough Primary School can now finally enjoy a hot meal at lunch time after years of planning.
The food is freshly prepared at the secondary school in the town and delivered in hot containers.
Headteacher Paul New said: “It is fantastic. We have been working to have hot meals here for three years. We have been trying to get that in the school.”
The pupils at the school in Wellington Avenue now have a choice of three healthy main meals which cost £2.20, including a dessert.
Mr New said: “The parents have been surprised at what their children have chosen. It is electronic so it shows up what their choices are.”
There are 250 children at the school and 100 have taken the hot meal option.
He said: “It is a Buckinghamshire County Council project. They have been trying to develop hub kitchens and in Risborough it is at the secondary school.”
