MISBOURNE School Headteacher John Robinson was released from his position this afternoon due to family reasons, it was announced in a letter to the school community.
Mr Robinson thanked the school community and wished success to the students studying for their GCSEs.
The letter acknowledged Mr Robinson's efforts as a tireless worker in the interests of students in the school and making significant and much needed changes to the school.
In the letter Mr Robinson said: “I am very confident that The Misbourne, as a school, and all its staff and pupils will succeed.
“I wish you all well for the future and hope to stay in touch with many of you. Keep up the good work." Following an OfSTED report in September 2010 Misbourne was placed into special measures and was placed under the administration of an Interim Executive Board, led by Alan Armstrong.
In early May Parent Champion Steve Anderson resigned from the IEB.
Robert Preston will fill the position of Interim Executive Head teacher after joining the school in the summer term.
